Our Vision:

ALL families connected

THE GENEALOGICAL EVIDENCE, DOCUMENTATION & WRITING GROUP Need help with your genealogical proofs? This SIG has just started an eight-month study of Thomas W. Jones book Mastering Genealogical Proof, examining a chapter a month. We will read Chapter 2, do the exercises, and discuss our answers at our next meeting. Everyone is welcome. Jones book is available at the NGS website (https://www.ngsgenealogy.org) for $26 for NGS members, $31 for non-members. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Family History Center.

New SCGS Mexican Genealogy Special Interest Group

The Sonoma County Genealogical Society is forming a new Special Interest Group (SIG) devoted to Mexican genealogy. It will be led by Laura Gonzalez, a local teacher and genealogy enthusiast. She has many years’ experience researching Mexican (and American) ancestors and has taught beginning genealogy workshops at Santa Rosa Junior College through the Community Education program. Contact Laura at mayangrl@sonic.netif you would like to be a part of this new SIG.

We have put together some great publications about the history, people and records of Sonoma County.

We have indexes to many of our publications, and are working to make them available here. The unavailability of RootsWeb will complicate matters, but we are hoping to find another way to allow you access. Stay Tuned!

This is an example of our Award Winning monthly newsletter. As a member, you will receive the new edition by email each month. You will also have access to all of our past issues in the Members  Only section of our website.
